Describe the Problem/Error/Question:
I got ~250k datasets in a Big Data View in a table. I use the app to link the data in another table which shows me the value. Perfect.
However, in my base the field is still empty.
Is the column really empty?
Sorry, I disagree. The cell is not empty. There is a ! icon. Please click it.
Every cell has an triangle icon if empty or not. Once I click the icon I can see the values, but I can´t use this cell in a formular.
But the triangle explains what’s going on, right?
The record is saved in the big data storage. If you move it out of big data, then the behavior should be the uniform for all records.
Ok, this is a new issue. Fortunately, by moving the record out of big data, this issue should be solved too.
But is very difficult to explan a user, that this data is in BigData and has to be moved. They will not understand and not do it.
Since you can store millions of rows in the big data storage (BDS), loading all links to records in the BDS can be a costly affair. This is why links to records in the BDS are not displayed by default. They are loaded when you click on the ! icon. In other words, the links to records in the BDS are loaded on demand.
My thoughts on your issue:
Please check if you need the BDS in this base.
- If not, disable it.
- If you need it, then isn’t there a way to add new records to the base rather then the BDS? (How did the record end up in the BDS when other records in the same table are not in the BDS?)
Without further context, recommendations have to be generic. Sorry. This said, I am confident that there is a simple way of resolving your issue.
