Add New Linked Records from Public Forms

I’m using SeaTable Cloud and looking for a way to let users add new linked records directly from a public form. For example, if a value doesn’t yet exist in a linked column (like a new person or training), they should be able to create it on the fly, similar to the “Allow adding new entries” feature in other setups or tools like Airtable.

From what I’ve tested, this doesn’t seem to work in the Cloud version — there’s no button or option to add a new record, and even adding "allow_add_new": true in the form config doesn’t seem to help.

My questions:

  1. Is this functionality currently supported in SeaTable Cloud public forms?
  2. If not, is it planned for future updates?
  3. Are there any workarounds or best practices for this use-case?
  4. Is there a public roadmap or changelog to follow feature development?

This would really help build smoother and more sustainable data entry flows. Thanks in advance for any info or suggestions!

As for 1.) You are correct. This is currently not supported.
As for 2.) As per the development plan, we do not intend to implement this feature.
As for 3.) There is a workaround. Form pages in a SeaTable app support “Add record” (see below). Rather than using a public form, you can create an open access app.

As for 4.) You can find our changelog here. A roadmap will be available soon.
