Group members can unlock locked views (Enterprise 6.0.10)

Setup:

  • SeaTable Server Enterprise Edition (licensed), self-hosted
  • Version: 6.0.10

Describe the Problem/Error/Question:

According to the documentation ( Lock Views in SeaTable: Protect Settings & Team Collaboration ), a view locked by a group owner or admin should stay locked for all group members who don’t have owner or admin rights. In our installation, however, regular group members can simply unlock any locked view by clicking the lock icon — no error message, the lock just toggles off.

Steps to reproduce (clean test):

  1. As admin, create a new group
  2. Create a base inside the group with a table and several views
  3. Lock all views (lock icon in the view options)
  4. Add a brand-new user (never used SeaTable before, no team admin rights) to the group with the role “Member”
  5. Log in as that user and open the base

Expected behavior:
The member cannot change the view configuration (filters, sorting, grouping, etc.) and cannot remove the lock.

Actual behavior:
The member can unlock all views and change the view configuration.

Is this a known issue in 6.0.10, and has it been fixed in a later release? We want to make sure locked views can only be modified by group owners/admins.

Thanks!

Please use the table and view settings in your base to manage the users’ permission to lock/unlock views:
