Only the direct back link (in this case Base Table 1) is actually hidden. Alls other Link field are always displayed in the “add record” dialogue. The “hide / show” works with all types except Links
The behaviour of link columns is rather complex. Currently we don’t have time to look into the issue yet. Once we have time, we will write a summary about the current status.
The issue you’re encountering here is a bug. The correct behavior should be that when a user hides the link record column, this column should not be displayed in either the table or the row expansion pages.
Thanks for following this up, since I didn’t , I cannot confirm with the exact test database I showed in the screenshot, but I asked the colleage who reported this first, and she confirmed it with a quick test.
She probably confirmed it implicitly long ago by not complaining about it any more, but I missed it somehow
