Thank you so much for offering to translate SeaTable into Danish. We really appreciate it, and a Danish localization would be a great addition.
Before we set anything up, I want to be upfront about something we’ve learned from previous offers. Translating SeaTable isn’t really a one-time task. The initial pass alone is a substantial amount of work: hundreds of strings across the UI, settings, emails, and docs and once it’s done, it needs ongoing maintenance. Every release adds, changes, or removes strings, and a half-maintained translation quickly becomes worse than no translation at all: users see a mix of Danish and English and lose trust in the localization.
I mention this because we’ve had several enthusiastic offers in the past for other languages. The initial excitement was always genuine, but in most cases contributions tapered off after the first wave, and we ended up with stale translations we couldn’t really ship with confidence.
So before we get started on our side: would you be comfortable committing not just to the initial translation, but also to keeping it up to date as SeaTable evolves? No pressure either way. We’d much rather hear an honest “I can do the first pass but not the long-term upkeep” than start something that turns into a burden later.

It is a pleasure to read your response. To me, it shows a deep commitment to quality in the user experience, and that truly makes me glad.
The good news is that I am approaching this with open eyes and some experience in translation of UI, E-Learning, and videos. As a retired IT professional, I am currently dedicating some of my time to helping local initiatives succeed with tools like SeaTable and other utilities. A high-quality Danish translation would mean a great deal to these users, and that motivation is exactly why I am prepared to commit to the ongoing maintenance, not just the initial pass.
I understand that a half-finished localization can do more harm than good, and I am fully aware of the responsibility that comes with keeping the strings up to date as the software evolves. I am happy to treat this as a long-term partnership rather than a one-off project.
