It has taken a little longer than planned, but the time has finally come: Introducing SeaTable 6.1!
Beginning today, SeaTable Server 6.1 is available for download in the well-known Docker Hub repository. We will be rolling out SeaTable 6.1 on SeaTable Cloud in the middle of next week.
The highlights of SeaTable 6.1 include :
New app page type “Map”: Plot your data on a map for spatial analyses
New view type “Timeline”: Display your records on a timeline
New view type 'Tree": Visualize the hierarchical relationships between records
Dynamic row selection filtering in link columns: Make the selection of linkable rows a function of the source row’s attributes
Filters in base log: Find faster what you are looking for
Improved table relationship plugin: Build concise relationship charts to explain others what’s going on in your base
New Google Calendar sync: Manage your Google calendar(s) using an automation rule
Additionally, we have added an AI Chat plugin which allows you to “talk” to your base. This plugin is beta and we’d love to get your feedback - either right here in this topic or in the background thread in the SeaTable Forum.
You find the Release Notes for the new version in our blog. The complete list of changes is – as always – available in the Changelog.
I am self-hosting and I made the version update yesterday. Can add in Timeline Plug in from market place, but when I try to access in a table, it is not visible.
Note, Timeline is version 1.0.24 and other plugins with recent updates are visible after successfully installing from the markeplace
I did not realise that, and now see that it is available as an app.
I had hoped that it would have been an enhancement to the base gantt with such things as dependencies
Is the AI chat Pluggin only available on cloud hosting or is it also available on self hosting? I am having trouble finding it in the marketplace and installing it
Currently, the AI chat plugin is only available in SeaTable Cloud. The reason is simple: the plugin requires a connection to an MCP server, and SeaTable does not yet pass the MCP server URL to the plugin. A self-hosted installation therefore wouldn’t know which MCP server to connect to, and the plugin would not work.
We will decide based on the feedback from our Cloud users how to proceed with the plugin. So please give it a try and share your feedback (good or bad) here in this forum.
In the meantime, you can set up your own MCP server and use an AI agent instead of the plugin:
